I feel incredibly grateful to have been part of FutureBuild Australia 2026, an event that brought together so many passionate people working towards a better future for the built environment.

Over two inspiring days, I had the opportunity to connect with designers, builders, suppliers, educators and industry professionals who are all contributing to the shift towards healthier, more resilient and sustainable buildings.

It was a privilege to be part of the panel discussion “The Net Zero Home That’s Actually Deliverable”, alongside incredibly talented industry experts including Linden, Alexander, David Baggs and Tori.

The conversation explored an important question facing our industry: how do we move beyond aspirations and create homes that genuinely deliver better outcomes for people, the planet and future generations?

For me, one of the most important messages is that high-performance homes are not created through a single product or technology. They come from understanding how all the parts work together.

• Thermal performance.
• Airtightness.
• Moisture management.
• Ventilation.
• Indoor air quality.
• Material choices.
• Passive design principles.

A home that performs well is the result of thoughtful design decisions, collaboration across the industry and a deep understanding of building science.

Events like FutureBuild are valuable because they create space for these conversations, allowing knowledge to be shared, challenges to be discussed and new ideas to emerge.

I left feeling inspired by the passion and commitment of so many people working towards a more sustainable future for our homes and communities.
